Best indian khansama sooji ka halwa recipes


Quick  Khansama  Sooji ka Halwa is a traditional Indian slow cooked sweet semolina pudding which  is prepared with just 6 basic ingredients.

Ingredients for khansama sooji ka halwa

  • ·         ½ cup                           sooji
  • ·         ½ cup                           sugar
  • ·         6-8 tablespoon             ghee
  • ·         ½ cup                           milk
  • ·         2 ½ cup                        water
  • ·         ¼ teaspoon                  cardamom powder
  • ·         1 tablespoon                almonds ( for garnishing)      

Method of making sooji ka halwa         
        
  • 1.      Heat the ghee in a broad non-stick pan, add the semolina and saute on a slow flame for 6 to 8 minutes ,while stirring occasionally.


  • 2.      Add the milk, 2½ cups of hot water, mix well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.


  • 3.      Add the sugar and mix well. Cover and cook on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring occasionally.


  • 4.      Add the cardamom powder, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute.


  • 5.      Serve khansama sooji ka halwa  immediately garnished with chopped almonds.
